The program is led by Kathleen O’Halloran, a Certified PEERS® for Young Adults Provider trained by UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior.
CELO LEARNING
Meet Kathleen, PEERS® for Young Adults Certified Provider
You care deeply about your future.
You want meaningful relationships, success in school or work, and a greater sense of independence, but something may not feel fully connected yet.
Maybe you find yourself wondering:
Why do social situations feel so difficult?
How do I make and keep real friends?
What does life after high school or college actually look like?
Will I be able to build the kind of life I want?
These are real questions, and you are not alone in asking them. With the right structure, support, and guidance, there is a clear path forward.
For more than a decade, I have worked alongside young people and families navigating the transition to adulthood, supporting growth in communication, confidence, independence, and self-understanding.
My approach combines evidence-based practices, including PEERS®, transition planning, and social-emotional learning, with individualized support tailored to each student’s strengths, goals, and personality.
Through a strong student–teacher relationship, we focus on practical skills for real life: building friendships, succeeding in school or work, navigating social situations, strengthening self-advocacy, and increasing confidence in everyday settings.
Along the way, you will learn to better understand yourself, connect more meaningfully with others, and move toward adulthood with greater clarity and purpose.
Each client progresses through the full 16-week UCLA PEERS® Clinic Curriculum with individualized instruction, structured practice, and intentional pacing.
This model is especially effective for independent learners who benefit from clear steps, repetition, and coaching support before group participation.
Clients learn ecologically valid social skills and develop their ability to:
Initiate and maintain conversations
Build and sustain friendships
Navigate peer dynamics with confidence
Engage successfully in academic, workplace, and community settings
Many clients are referred by families, educators, therapists, schools, and community partners. If someone shared Celo Learning with you, it is because they believe we can help. We invite you to schedule a complimentary consultation appointment to share your story, ask questions, and explore whether this program is the right fit for your goals.
Every Celo Learning client is met where they are. They are supported in building meaningful connection, increasing independence, and achieving long-term success across school, work, and life.
This program IS a strong fit for individuals who:
Are motivated to build and maintain friendships
Benefit from structured, step-by-step instruction
Thrive with coaching, repetition, and guided practice
Are preparing for or navigating high school, college, or early career environments
May have neurodevelopmental differences, learning disabilities, health impairments, or complex learning profiles
Would benefit from individualized support before or alongside group participation
This program IS NOT the best fit for individuals who:
Are not currently interested in building social relationships
Are not able to engage in consistent weekly participation and practice or prefer a drop-in experience
Are seeking clinical or therapeutic intervention beyond structured social skills instruction
Celo Learning focuses on teaching and practicing concrete, evidence-based social skills. For individuals who may benefit from a clinical approach, we are happy to help guide you toward appropriate resources.
